＠安土城

Azuchi Castle is a castle built by Oda Nobunaga
during the Azuchi-Momoyama period in Omi Province
on the east bank of Lake Biwa.
This castle has 6 floors above ground and 1 floor
below ground, and the height of the main tower is
about 32 meters.
It is speculated that Nobunaga lived in the keep
of this castle.
In 1582, shortly after Nobunaga’s vassal Akechi
Mitsuhide rebelled against Nobunaga, the castle was
destroyed by fire for some reason.
It happened less than 10 years after the castle
was built.
The current Azuchi Castle is a reconstructed one.
安土城は、琵琶湖東岸の近江国に、安土桃山時代
に織田信長によって建造された城です。
この城は、地下１階の地上６階建てで、天主の
高さが約３２メートルあります。
信長は、この城の天守で生活していたと推測されて
います。
１５８２年に、信長の家臣である明智光秀による
信長への謀反の後まもなくして何らかの原因
によってこの城は焼失しました。
築城からわずか１０年足らずの出来事でした。
現在ある安土城は、再構築されたものです。
