Napoleon Bonaparte was born in Corsica in 1769.
During the French Revolution, he became emperor
and ruled France.
Napoleon was granted a military dictatorship.
He took control of most of the European continent,
with the exception of Russia, Great Britain, and
the Ottoman Empire.
However, the failure of the Russian campaign in 1812
put an end to the expansionary ambitions of European
control.
After escaping from Elba, Napoleon returned to Paris
and was reinstated as emperor.
After being defeated by the British at the Battle of
Waterloo in June 1815, he was exiled to the island of
St Helena.
And there he ended his life.
ナポレオン・ボナパルトは、１７６９年にコルシカ島
で生まれました。
彼は、フランス革命の最中に現れてきて、皇帝となって、
フランスを統治することになりました。
ナポレオンは、軍事上の独裁政権の権利を得ることに
なりました。
彼は、ロシア、イギリス、、オスマン帝国の領土以外
のヨーロッパ大陸のほとんどを勢力下に置くことに
なりました。
しかし、１８１２年にロシア遠征での失敗により、
拡張を続けてきたヨーロッパ支配の野望は崩れる
ことになります。
ナポレオンは、エルバ島を脱出した後は、パリに帰還
してから皇帝に復帰しました。
１８１５年６月ワーテルローの戦いでイギリスに敗れて
から、彼はセントヘレナ島へ島流しにされました。
そして、そこで生涯を終えることになりました。
