The Ottoman Empire, known as the Ottoman Turks,
was founded in what is now the Anatolian region
of Turkey.
The Ottoman Empire was a large Islamic empire
that existed from the 14th century to the
beginning of the 20th century.
The Ottoman Turks, an Islamic dynasty, were born
in Anatolia in Asia Minor and conquered the
Eastern Roman Empire and the Mamluk Empire.
In time, they developed into a world-wide Ottoman
Empire that covered most of the Mediterranean Sea.
It conquered other countries with overwhelming
military power, and its power spread to Central
Europe and North Africa.
However, the Ottoman Empire, which had lasted for
600 years, came to an end due to the Turkish
Revolution.
オスマン帝国はオスマントルコと呼ばれ、
現在のトルコ共和国のアナトリア地方に
建国されました。
オスマントルコは、１４世紀から２０世紀
の初頭まで存在したイスラム教の大帝国です。
イスラム王朝であるオスマントルコは、
小アジアのアナトリア生まれて、東ローマ帝国
やマムルーク朝などを征服していきます。
やがて、彼らは地中海周辺の大半を覆いつくす
ような世界規模のオスマン帝国へと発展して
いったのです。
圧倒的な軍事力で他国を制覇して、その勢力は
中央ヨーロッパや北アフリカにまで広がって
いきました。
しかし、トルコ革命によって６００年も続いて
きたオスマン帝国はここにおいて滅亡すること
になりました。
