A senator and right-wing candidate in
Colombia’s presidential election
scheduled for next year was shot while
campaigning in the capital, Bogota,
on June 7, 2025.
He was shot twice in the head and once
in the knee.
He was taken to the intensive care unit
where he is receiving treatment,
but his condition is said to be serious.
