Saturn is the sixth planet from the Sun and is
the second largest planet in the solar system
after Jupiter.
Saturn has a low density, so its mass is not
very large for its large volume.
Like Jupiter, the surface is mostly gas, and
there is a rocky core in the center.
Saturn is a giant planet with a radius about 9
times that of Earth, but its average density
is only about 1/8 that of Earth.
Therefore, Saturn’s mass is only about 95 times
that of Earth.
Saturn is characterized by its large rings.
Clusters of thousands of thin rings contain ice,
rock fragments, and iron oxides.
This was revealed by the observations of the
American unmanned spacecraft.
Saturn’s surface atmosphere is composed of 96%
molecular hydrogen and less than 4% helium.

などから構成されています。
これは、アメリカの無人探査機の観測によって明らか
にされました。
土星の表面の大気は、９６%の水素分子と４%以下の
ヘリウムの構成になっています。
